Apple TV lets watchOS 8.5 authenticate purchases

We've already talked about the very common habit of Apple releases of releasing software updates to establish small news that are not always fruitful.

With watchOS 8.5 it allows you to authenticate purchases through a new function.

Purchases made on Apple TV or rent a movie or subscription, for example, with the Apple Watch, it is not necessary to use the password on the device (Box) or pick up your iPhone device or iPad to authenticate.

You need to make sure that your Apple TV, (Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K of both generations) is properly updated to tvOS 15.4 or a later version thereof.

Go to Settings – System – Software Updates and click Update Software.

An authentication screen will appear on your watch right after you purchase an item. To confirm, just double-click on the side button of the Apple Watch.

This process is the same as the process done to pay using the Apple Pay or when it is used to authenticate something on Mac.
